Hello everyone, my name is Jackie McDonald, and I am delighted to have recently joined the team at Osprey Court as Home Manager. I am very proud to be a nurse, and I started my nursing career in 1986 in the NHS, moving to the care home sector in 1994. In the last 30+ years I have gained experience in a wide range of roles, from Home Manager to senior regional and national positions. I’m also a local girl, so it feels especially meaningful to be back working within the community I know and care about.
I am passionate about delivering kind, person-centred care and believe that helping residents enjoy fulfilling, meaningful lives is just as important as providing excellent care. Creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel valued, respected and truly at home is something I care deeply about.
Outside of work, I am married and have a grown-up daughter, and a 16 month old granddaughter, Daisy, who brings lots of joy to family life. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, walking, reading, baking, watching rugby and socialising.
I’m very much looking forward to getting to know residents, families and colleagues. My door is always open, and I would love to hear your thoughts, ideas or simply have a chat. You’ll also see me out and about around the home, getting to know everyone and making sure I’m listening and learning about what matters most to you.
