We prioritise staying informed and strictly adhere to official advice and guidance from the Government, the Department of Health and local NHS Trust. In the event of any cases, we have implemented a robust system to promptly record cases and implement appropriate containment measures.

Staying Connected With Loved Ones

In response to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, we are dedicated to ensuring our residents maintain connections with loved ones and the broader community. We facilitate day trips and overnight stays outside our care home, with each resident undergoing an individual risk assessment that includes respiratory screening upon return. While testing and isolation measures are not mandatory for residents leaving temporarily, we strongly encourage vaccination upkeep for everyone’s safety.

During challenging times, such as outbreaks when physical interaction may be limited, we provide residents with various online devices for video calls with friends and family, ensuring continuous connectivity. Recognising the importance of human connection for mental and physical wellbeing, we strive to support residents in pursuing activities they enjoy and staying in touch with their loved ones.

COVID-19 FAQs

Ensuring the safety of our residents, their families, and our staff is of utmost importance to us at Dalgety Bay Care Home. We are here to provide assistance and address any questions or concerns you may have. Below, you will find a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) relating to COVID-19:

Although vaccination is no longer mandatory, we highly recommend that all residents, visitors and team members at Osprey Court Care Home receive full COVID-19 vaccination, including future boosters, unless medically exempt. To minimise infection risks for others, we will continue to strongly encourage our team members to complete their vaccination schedule.

When transferring from the community or another care home, individuals do not need to isolate if the circumstances at the care home or interim care facility from which they transferred are known.

However, if a resident is symptomatic or has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, they should isolate and undergo two LFT tests on day 0 and again on day 2. Isolation can be discontinued following two negative test results.

Residents who test positive in the home must isolate for 5 days. They may resume normal activities if they feel well and do not have a high temperature (without the use of paracetamol).

Those who test positive should avoid contact with other individuals eligible for COVID-19 treatments for 10 days after testing positive. Residents unable to be tested should isolate for 5 days.

During an outbreak, risk assessments may be conducted to manage visiting arrangements, admissions to the home and the use of communal areas for a temporary period. We collaborate closely with local and national agencies, adhering to local agreements and guidance. For further details, please reach out to our Home Manager directly.
